Meet Betty

It’s not about who you’ve been.
It’s about who you’re becoming.

I lost 100 pounds over 13 months — and created The Betty Method to help other women build a sustainable life around their GLP-1 journey.

Betty Billingham — founder of The Betty Method

I’ve been aware of my body for as long as I can remember.

One of my earliest memories is hiding cookies in my closet because I thought eating them was “bad.” I wore board shorts to the pool because I was self-conscious about my thighs. I was sent to fat camp as a kid, and I still remember the shame and embarrassment when my parents showed me the promotional video. That feeling stuck with me for a long time.

In my twenties, I decided I didn’t want to live like that anymore.

I started doing the deeper work — really unpacking emotional eating, body image, and all the beliefs I had about myself. That journey changed me. It eventually led me to become a certified life coach, helping other women navigate those same struggles.

By the time I met my husband, I felt… good. Not “perfect”, but genuinely at peace in my body. I had a healthy relationship with food. I was living freely and eating intuitively.

Then life happened.

We got engaged, got married, and I got pregnant on my honeymoon. I was so excited to become a mom, so I put my business on the back burner — and after that first pregnancy, everything shifted.

I gained weight during pregnancy, lost some of it quickly postpartum… but I was also dealing with postpartum depression. The medication I needed to feel like myself again caused significant weight gain. Slowly, I stopped wanting to look in the mirror. I stopped stepping on the scale. It felt too hard to face the truth.

What made it harder was that I knew what to do.

I’m a coach. I understand nutrition. I’ve done the programs — Whole30, clean eating, all of it. I was working out. I was trying. But my body just… wasn’t responding. It felt like I was doing everything right and getting nowhere.

Three years later, after my second daughter was born, I was strong and active — I was playing tennis for hours while pregnant — but I was still struggling with my weight. I could eat healthy food, but I was always hungry, and portion sizes felt impossible to manage.

And underneath all of that was something heavier: shame.

I had helped women with these exact struggles… and I couldn’t figure it out for myself. I started to feel like an imposter, so I didn’t feel like I could go back to coaching when I had failed myself… again.

Years passed. Life got busy. And despite working out consistently and pushing myself hard, I stayed stuck. I could lose 10–15 pounds, but never enough to truly change anything.

After my third baby, I hit a point where I knew something had to change.

That’s when I started hearing about GLP-1 medications like Zepbound. I was hesitant at first — I didn’t want to be “that person” that needed medication to lose weight. But I also knew I had been trying SO hard for years, and something had to give.

So I did my research. I talked to people I trusted. And I decided to talk to my doctor.

She told me something that shifted everything: your lifestyle is already solid — your body just needs support.

I’ll never forget taking my first shot.

That night, something felt different — and not just physically. It was like a quiet that I had never experienced before. A sense of fullness, yes, but also… contentment. Like something that had always been “on” in the background of my mind finally turned off.

I remember waking up in the middle of the night and just feeling… complete.

It’s hard to explain, but I knew: this was the missing piece.

Over the next 13 months, I lost 100 pounds.

But more importantly, everything I had been doing for years — strength training, nourishing my body, showing up consistently — finally worked. My body responded in a way it never had before.

And that’s why I created The Betty Method.

Because this isn’t just about weight loss. It’s about finally having the tools — and the support — to make it all come together.

So many women are doing the right things and still feel stuck. And when something does start working — whether it’s medication or another tool — it can feel overwhelming to know how to build a sustainable life around it.

That’s what I want to help you do.

To create a way of eating, moving, and living that actually supports your body long-term. To build strength, confidence, and health that lasts.
